Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance (TPPA) - Working Together for a Brighter Future
The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance (TPPA) was founded in 1994 as an action group of the Healthy Start Coalition of Hardee, Highlands, and Polk Counties, Inc. What started as a small volunteer group has grown into a diverse network of passionate individuals and organizations dedicated to preventing teen pregnancy.
To identify and reduce the risk of teen pregnancy through collaboration with local agencies and the empowerment of youth and the broader community.
Our work is essential to the health and future of our community. TPPA is committed to reducing teen pregnancy rates and empowering youth to make informed, healthy choices by providing free services to the community and collaborating with a range of local partners.

Polk Youth Leadership Team (YLT): Empowering Teens for a Healthier Future
The Youth Leadership Team (YLT) is a dedicated group of young leaders committed to promoting and supporting teen pregnancy prevention efforts. As part of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Alliance (TPPA), our mission is to educate, inspire, and drive positive change within the community. We prioritize the health, well-being, and safety of ourselves, our peers, our families, and the wider community.
YLT strives to:
- Educate teens about healthy choices and pregnancy prevention.
- Promote community awareness on important health issues.
- Support local initiatives that contribute to the well-being of youth.
The YLT is run by a leadership team elected by its members. This peer-led approach ensures that the group’s projects and activities are shaped by the voices of its youth members, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility.
